Guys, this year’s season started early and is already rocking! In my 22 years going to Chile, I’ve never seen a season start like this. With this amount of snow in the central zone, and at this time of year, it’s impressive!
A great opportunity to take advantage of early-season promotions. In fact, any promotion at any time, because with so much snow, the entire season is already 100% guaranteed!
A few tips:
Remember that technical snow clothing is what will give you the comfort you need to stay on the slopes longer. Those snowy or very cold days can be the best days of the season. But only if you have suitable clothing, otherwise they can become the worst day of the season! Choose fabrics that prevent water from entering and allow perspiration to escape at the same time. The base layer is also essential for thermal comfort, as are gloves, helmet, bandana, and goggles. There are actually many accessories, and each one is important. If you don’t yet have your own snowboard or skis, it’s important to prepare. Take advantage and look for something more special for the entire mountain, since everything is covered in snow. For snowboards, I recommend the XV Magtek board for men and the Frenemy Magtek for women. For skis, I recommend the Soul 7 for men and the Saffron 7 for women. The Nautisport store in Santiago has everything from Rossignol. I love everything about them.
In Farellones, there are several hotels and refuges to stay at, such as Hotel Chalet Valluga, Hotel Farellones, Base Camp Farellones, etc. Farellones also has El Montañes Restaurant, a place frequented by locals and tourists alike. The variety of dishes is very good, from pizzas to meats and fish, to soups and salads. And now there’s also El Montañes in Santiago, which is worth checking out. It’s located in the La Dehesa neighborhood. The space is very welcoming, with a mountain style, and has a play area for children, including a slack line, a climbing wall, and a slide.
Valle Nevado is a safe and convenient option, with comfortable hotels right next to the slopes, a variety of restaurants, and a gym with stretching classes, weight machines, and massage facilities.
I wish you all a great season!
