My season competing in the full World Cup circuit wasn’t easy. It was a constant struggle with myself, striving for perfection. Even with all my experience, I need to work hard to overcome fears and technical tendencies. SBX tracks are fast, and during the few descents we have for training and competition, it’s necessary to apply technique effectively and precisely. But not everything always went as planned.
Despite this, I had standout moments on the slopes, such as the Feldberg stage, where I achieved 8th place in qualifying. I also had good adaptations to most of the slopes. I tried different Oxess snowboard shapes and came to the conclusion of the ideal shape for me, which I started using at the end of the season and will be my boards for the Olympic Games.
With the season over, I’m left with the learnings from a great experience, working with professionals who worked alongside me through the best and worst moments, supporting me and giving me the best of each other.
We consider this past season a rehearsal for the next Northern Hemisphere season, which will culminate in the Olympic Games. I’m within the qualifying range for the Games and in excellent health. I need to fine-tune details, and my goal now is to continue training hard physically, technically, and mentally to stay sharp and reach the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, representing Brazil with great pride and passion.
Thank you for following me, and see you next time!
